FESTIVAL CLIMATE WEEK AT THE FACULTY OF LAW, CHARLES UNIVERSITY
In the week before the anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, Climate Week took place at the Faculty of Law of Charles University. The event was meant to bring the urgent topic of climate crisis into discussions at an institution that is preparing a new generation of lawyers as law can be a powerful tool of the climate action, but also a significant barrier. The programme consisted primarily of debates and lectures covering different aspects of addressing the climate change. For example, the climate litigation and climate justice, the specific position of women and the importance of their participation in the search for solutions, or climate activism and the unfavourable trend of repression in states of the Global North. Also, a FairJob – a fair of jobs in the environmental and nongovernmental area took place as part of the event as well as screenings of climate documentaries and exhibitions installed on the halls of the Faculty of Law.
