THE DOBŘÍŠ PROCESS „ENVIRONMENT FOR EUROPE“ AS A LEGACY OF JOSEF VAVROUŠEK
The article deals with the spiritual legacy of Josef Vavroušek, former Minister of the Government of Czechoslovakia and Chairman of the Federal Committee for the Environment in 1990–1992. In 1991, together with President Václav Havel, he co-organised the first ever conference on the environment in Europe, held at Dobříš Castle, which launched the so-called Environment for Europe Process, which, for example, led to the adoption of the Aarhus Convention in 1998.
