Článek se zaměřuje na Norské centrum pro mořské právo (Norwegian Centre for the Law of the Sea, NCLOS) při Arktické univerzitě v Norsku v Tromsø a na jeho každoroční konferenci, která se konala ve dnech 3.–5. listopadu 2025 a které se zúčastnila autorka článku. Nejprve představuje činnost NCLOS a příležitosti, které nabízí zahraničním studentům a akademikům. Následně se věnuje konferenci zaměřené na roli prováděcích dohod k Úmluvě OSN o mořském právu (UNCLOS) pro budoucnost mořského práva. Stručně představuje jednotlivé dohody (Dohodu z roku 1994 o provádění části XI UNCLOS, Dohodu o rybích hejnech z roku 1995 a BBNJ dohodu z roku 2023) a příspěvky prezentované na konferenci. V závěru autorka připomíná, proč je důležité, aby se Česká republika jako vnitrozemský stát zajímala o oceány a o mořské právo.
THE NORWEGIAN CENTRE FOR THE LAW OF THE SEA AND ITS 2025 ANNUAL CONFERENCE ON IMPLEMENTING AGREEMENTS TO UNCLOS
The article focuses on the Norwegian Centre for the Law of the Sea at the Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø and its annual conference, which took place from 3 to 5 November 2025 and was attended by the author of the article. First, it presents the activities of NCLOS and the opportunities it offers to foreign students and academics. It then addresses the conference dedicated to the role of implementing agreements to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea for the future of the law of the sea. It briefly introduces the individual agreements (the 1994 Agreement on the Implementation of Part XI of UNCLOS, the 1995 Fish Stocks Agreement, and the 2023 BBNJ Agreement) and the contributions presented at the conference. In conclusion, the author recalls why it is important for the Czech Republic, as a landlocked country, to take an interest in the oceans and the law of the sea.
